Bollywood box office is finally being revived by Stree 2 which is hitting the theaters tomorrow, 15 August. The film is riding on exceptional advance bookings as the opening day tally is bound to be over Rs 50 crore.

The majority of this credit goes to the fact that this film is a sequel to earlier blockbuster Stree which was also a fairly successful film at the box office.
At this rate, if Stree 2 is a testament of the Bollywood audience reception for sequels then one can only wonder what might happen with Pushpa 2.

For starters, Stree 2 is only a multiplex film and doesn’t have the mass boost. In the case of Pushpa 2, it will have the natural advantage of catering to the masses which will mean that the numbers in the mass belts will be beyond imagination.
Stree 2’s advance sales numbers are being attributed to its sequel hype and if the same remains to be the case with Pushpa 2 when it releases, then the Bollywood box office could be shaking up.

But for that to happen, a winning promotional campaign is a must. The songs released thus far have only garnered an okayish response from the Hindi film. So a winning trailer is what is needed for the Allu Arjun starrer to make it all happen
There are conservative estimates that Pushpa 2 will open with Rs 50+ crore in Hindi in the worst case scenario. The number might shoot up sharply in case the hype is on an incremental scale as the film heads for release on the 6th of December.
