Buzz around a possible box office clash between Suriya and Dhanush is going viral on social media. Unconfirmed reports claim that Suriya’s long-pending film Karuppu and Dhanush’s upcoming Kara may release on April 10.
So far, neither team has officially announced a release date. However, industry chatter suggests both films are eyeing the same day for a theatrical release, triggering intense online debate.
Reports say only a few days of shooting remain for Karuppu. The team has already begun post-production alongside the final schedules.
Meanwhile, Kara has completed its shoot and is currently in post-production. Work is reportedly progressing at a brisk pace, adding strength to its release readiness.
Following the clash buzz, many social media users believe Kara holds the upper hand. They argue that repeated delays have reduced Karuppu’s hype, while Kara has stayed on track since its announcement.
Kara is directed by Vignesh Raja, who received wide appreciation for his debut Por Thozil. This has raised expectations that Kara could be a strong content-driven performer.
However, Suriya fans strongly disagree. They feel Karuppu will dominate the clash as it is positioned as a mass commercial entertainer, while Kara is seen as a content-oriented film.
According to them, theatrical audiences still prefer large-scale commercial films, especially during the summer season. This, they believe, gives Karuppu an edge at the box office.
At the same time, trade trackers caution that the clash talk may still be just a rumour. There is a strong possibility that both films may opt for different release dates.
They point out that the Election Commission of India has not yet announced the Tamil Nadu state election dates. This factor could influence final release plans.
As of now, there is no official confirmation from either side. It remains to be seen whether Karuppu and Kara will clash on April 10, or choose separate release windows.
