Nani, Karthi and Fahadh Faasil are as dissimilar actors can get. But, they now have one thing in common. The films starring them have been selected for a prestigious film festival.
Yesterday, an announcement came out that Nani starrer Jersey has been selected for the official screening at the International Indian Film Festival, Toronto. A day later, we now have Karthi’s Khaithi get the same honour.
Jersey and Khaithi belong to different genres, but the love for them from the audience and critics was unanimous. Everyone loved them, and it showed at the box office, as well.
Gowtham Tinnanuri directed Jersey, which is based on the sports backdrop. Nani plays a failed cricketer in the movie who plans to make a comeback in the mid-’30s. The pure identifiable emotional drama featuring the case was the mainstay.
Khaithi, on the other hand, helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is an action thriller. The narrative focuses on a just-released prisoner who is caught in an extraordinary circumstance involving police and drug mafia.
Apart from, Jersey and Khaithi, the Fahadh Faasil starrer Trance is the other South Indian selection. Besides them, Bollywood’s Super30 starring Hrithik Roshan is also set to screen at the festival.
All these films comprise of unique premises. They are sure to win the festival crowd, as well upon their screening. The International Indian Film Festival in Toronto commences from August 9th and continue till August 15.
