The Odyssey Day 1 box office in India

One of the most significant films from Hollywood in recent years came up in the form of The Odyssey , which released in theatres on July 17. This Christopher Nolan film is currently running in theatres and let us have a look at the kind of performance that it had put up on the first day.

In fact, this is the best possible start for an original English film without the franchise backing in Indian cinema. We have seen films from franchise more than 40 or 50 crore but they come from a franchise background.

So this can be considered as a pretty positive start for this Christopher Nolan film, which is almost entirely depending on his credibility and following in India.

It might not be a tailor made film for the Telugu audience, but it has its moments here and there. At the end of the day, this film is always expected to cater to the A section audience and multiplex folk and that’s about it.

Earlier film from Christopher Nolan, which was the Oppenheimer had collected more than ₹160 crore at the Indian box office, and this could perhaps be some kind of a parameter for this new Nolan film now.

When it comes to the global box office this film is expected to collect more than $1 billion in the full run. This is a bare minimum number for a Christopher Nolan film that was shot on such a huge budget.
