A foreign actress who was brought on board for one of Tollywood’s biggest upcoming pan-India films is now said to be creating some tension behind the scenes.
According to industry buzz, the actress had signed a strict two-year exclusive contract with the makers when she was cast in the project. As part of that deal, she reportedly agreed not to sign any other films until the release of this big-ticket movie starring a major pan-India superstar.
At that time, the arrangement may have looked like a dream launch. After all, getting introduced in a massive period film opposite one of the biggest stars in the country is no small thing. But now, the same contract is said to have become a headache.
The issue is that the film has taken longer than expected, and there is fresh talk that its release may not happen as originally planned. The makers are looking to release the film in December, but it looks difficult because a lot of shooting and post-production work is still pending.
With the actress’s two-year contract period now coming to an end, she is reportedly asking the production house to formally release her from the exclusivity arrangement so that she can start signing other projects.
From her side, the concern is understandable. For any newcomer, especially someone trying to build a career in Indian cinema, sitting idle for two years and waiting for just one film can be a risky move. If the movie gets delayed further, that only adds to the frustration.
What makes this even more interesting is that this is not some small project. We are talking about a high-profile period drama backed by a top production house and starring one of the biggest pan-India stars. The film has already generated strong curiosity because of its war backdrop, large-scale production design, and the fact that it marks the actress’s big-screen debut in India.
Now the question is whether the makers will continue to hold her under the original agreement or quietly let her move on.
If the film is indeed heading for a delay, keeping the actress locked in without allowing her to take up other work may only create more unnecessary tension. At the same time, the production may want to protect the freshness of her launch and avoid overexposure before the film hits screens.
As of now, nothing has been officially confirmed by anyone involved. But the gossip doing the rounds in film circles is that this contract issue has become a genuine behind-the-scenes discussion around one of Tollywood’s most-awaited projects.
