The US box office is getting ready for the Sankranthi bonanza as Megastar Chiranjeevi and Unstoppable star Nandamuri Balakrishna are all set to set the screens on fire. The bookings have started and the early trends are quite surprising.
Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya is lagging behind Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy, going by the early trends. Veerayya has collected close to $55 K whereas Veera Simha has grossed around $75 K.
Balakrishna’s films usually don’t do that well compared to Chiranjeevi’s in America. Chiru’s standalone stardom is also not that great but due to the fan following of Pawan Kalyan and Ram Charan overseas, Chiranjeevi’s films have been received better.
But it looks as if the negative effect of Megastar’s last two films is looming large over Waltair Veerayya. On the other hand, Balakrishna is coming back after a blockbuster hit Akhanda. Also, Balakrishna’s revamped image after the Unstoppable show has also hiked his popularity among the neutral audience.
Usually, it’s Chiranjeevi who has dominated Balakrishna in the US but this time the situation looks reversed. But these are just early trends and still, there are two weeks before the release of the film and the situation can change by that time. Also, after the release of trailers, Veerayya may go ahead, we never know.
