M9 News Journalist Nishant sat with Producer Suryadevara Nagavamsi ahead of the release of his Lucky Baskhar on the 31st of this month. The producer distributed NTR’s Devara in AP and Telangana recently and tasted success.
Nagavamsi says Lucky Baskhar will only have Financial Frauds as a backdrop but the film is predominantly a commercial film with proper emotions so will not have any problems for the audience to connect with it.
When asked if the remunerations of other language heroes will be less when compared to our heroes. He said, “Remunerations are all about proper assessment and understanding. We assess the market and explain the hero about the economics and adjust the remunerations as per the market”.
He agreed that there may be nativity issues when we make films with other language heroes. “Sir underperformed in Tamil when compared to Telugu. Maybe there is a little bit of a nativity issue for the Tamil audience. We hope it will not be the case with Lucky Baskhar,” he said.
We asked him if he was afraid when there is a targeted negative campaign on Devara trying to brand it as Acharya 2 right from the trailer to even up to the second day of the movie release. “I expected all that well in advance. It will be the case with every star movie going forward. I trusted the film to work as Tarak Anna is coming with a solo release after 6 years and it worked,” he said.
He explained his statement – “We release Collection Posters to Satisfy fans” which was blown out of proportion.
We asked him if he regrets dropping the action script and doing a family subject for Gunturkaaram.
He also spoke about the party he hosted for Devara distributors in Dubai, ignoring Chandrababu Naidu and praising Pawan Kalyan in Government issues, Allu Arjun – Trivikram’s upcoming film, etc.
