Why No Felicitation For Chiranjeevi

The other day, the Big Producers of Tollywood met Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan in the latter’s Vijayawada Camp Office.

After the meeting, Allu Aravind spoke to the media and informed them that they sought the appointment of the Chief Minister so that they could felicitate Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan.

Earlier in May, Chiranjeevi was conferred with Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian honor of India on January 25th this year.

The very next day (January 26th), Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce President Dil Raju met Chiranjeevi and announced to the media that the Film Industry would plan an event to felicitate Chiranjeevi after consulting everyone.

It’s been six months but nothing of that sort happened.

While the idea to felicitate Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan is good, the track record of the industry led by the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, Telugu Film Producers Council, and Telangana Film Chamber Of Commerce with respect to these felicitations is not good.

The industry could not even arrange a commemoration meeting for the Legendary SP Balasubrahmaniam when he passed away.




It is a disgrace that the industry ignores its legends. Chiranjeevi commercialized Telugu Cinema to a large extent and getting the second highest civilian honor is the honor for the industry. If even that is not celebrated, it speaks very badly about the industry.
