Ram Charan made his debut amidst huge expectations and he managed to reach them to an extent with his debut. He followed it with mind numbing success of Magadheera. A disaster followed it following which he was termed a one movie wonder. And then Racha happened and ever since he hasn’t looked back and is termed one of the safest bets at box office.
Amidst all these there was however one movie which caused an unexpected damage to the star. The film was Zanjeer and it’s critical reception has created a wound which is yet to heal for the star. No wonder he terms the films as a regret. The damage as we all know was with respect to his acting. Even with a disaster Orange no one commented on his performance but post Zanjeer no matter what he is doing he is being criticized heavily.
During the same time the actor got the opportunity to be part of a Mani Ratnam film. The film as one would know now is Ok Bangaram. With a Mani Ratnam film if there is one thing that’s assured irrespective of commercial success it is critical success something that Charan is trying so hard to achieve. It could also have been a proper launch for the actor in Tamil film industry as well going by the buzz the first single has already created.
We would know the actual content, main reason for the rejection by the star, in a months time. One just hopes that Ok Bangaram does not become another regret for the star, especially considering the fact that he has been sitting idle all the while the film has taken time to go onto sets and get completed.
