Thrillers and OTT home watching are like a match made in heaven, and we now have a new tech-thriller streaming on Netflix called CTRL.
Ananya Panday plays the lead role in CTRL, which explores what happens when her boyfriend cheats on her. She decides to remove his memories from her life using an AI app that deletes all digital past history.
The movie revolves around the turn it takes and how this AI app is meant to destroy people.
CTRL takes its time to get off the ground, but after about 45 minutes, the main twist arrives, making the rest of the film engaging.
Techno thrillers like CTRL aren’t new; we’ve seen Missing (2023, thriller), but what makes CTRL visually fresh is the unique AI perspective.
CTRL makes you think about the future with AI and how big companies could manipulate data.
The film features some Gen-Z elements and has excellent editing. Moreover, it feels original, though it may remind you of Black Mirror. It is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, who previously gave us films like Trapped and Bhavesh Joshi Superhero.
Do give CTRL on Netflix a try!
