Nara Lokesh Visited Flood Areas Mangalagiri

Andhra Pradesh’s Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh visited rain-affected areas in his constituency, Mangalagiri. He reviewed the rescue and relief operations that are being done by the government.

Heavy rainfall from the last two days severely affected various places in Andhra Pradesh. The impact was severe in regions like Vijayawada, Guntur and Mangalagiri.

Lokesh toured various rain-hit areas in his constituency like Nulakapeta, Ratnala Cheruvu, China Kakani and DD Nagar. He spoke to the victims and assured them government’s assistance and support.

Lokesh asked people in the low-lying areas to assess the intensity of rainfall and relocate to safer places if needed. He requested them to stay indoors and not come out in these rains.

Lokesh reviewed the actions that are being taken by the officials and ordered them to stay alert and continue rescue operations in the flood-hit areas.

Speaking to the media, Lokesh said that there is a need to come up with a permanent solution to the drainage problem in Mangalagri. He stated that there is a need to remap the entire drainage system to ensure the free flow of rainwater in these kinds of situations.

Lokesh added that a major crisis has been evaded by cleaning the drain promptly. He opined that the previous government didn’t take measures to solve this problem in Mangalagiri.
