Finance Minister Arun Jaitley once again responded on the issue of Special Status to Andhra Pradesh, probably for the fourth or fifth time in the last couple of weeks. Jaitley announced in the Parliament that they are working on a solution for the Special Status which panned out into a problem now.

“We are talking to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Discussions are happening. Very soon we will come up with a plan to overcome all the problems. We are already addressing the revenue deficit of the state, Jaitley said. YSR Congress Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy said that people will not accept Special Package if the center is thinking on that lines.
However, there are enough indications from the Center that Special Status is not going to happening. Media sources are abuzz that Center is going to compensate it with a Special Package. Given the position of Andhra Pradesh, it can not dictate terms to the Center and will have to take solace from the Package only.
