Union Minister of Civil Aviation Rammohan Naidu said that 86% of the Bhogapuram airport work is complete and the airport will be ready for operations by June 2026.
The Minister inspected the ongoing works and reviewed the overall progress with the construction company, including pending tasks and completed activities.
He praised GMR for continuing construction despite hurdles. Even during the rainy season, the company has not stopped work and has been pushing forward with steady progress.
Naidu explained that meetings were held on road connectivity to Vizag. Authorities have identified seven entry points, and the highway is expected to be completed by March or April. Work on an elevated corridor is also moving ahead.
He added that a DPR is being prepared for the beach corridor. The Ministry has received requests for improved connectivity between Vizag and Kochi. Expanding international connectivity from Vizag is also a priority.
