After his meeting with Amit Shah on Wednesday night, Chandrababu Naidu shared the essence of the discussions with some TDP leaders. Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended an invitation for TDP to join the NDA, emphasizing the broader interests of the state.
According to sources, Chandrababu Naidu discussed the limitations and potential challenges for the party if TDP were to form an alliance with the BJP. It appears that he expressed a positive inclination towards joining the NDA in response to Shah’s invitation.
During the YSRCP regime, the state faced financial challenges, hindering development and infrastructure improvements. Chandrababu Naidu stressed the need for central cooperation to address these issues and revive the state’s fortunes.
Key concerns included the completion of the Polavaram project, the construction of the capital Amaravati, and the generation of employment opportunities for the youth. Additionally, there were indications that the NDA government would be reformed at the center.
The BJP’s invitation to TDP to join the NDA was reportedly discussed, with Chandrababu Naidu considering it as a positive move for the state. Discussions also touched on the potential diversion of Muslim minority votes towards YSRCP if TDP aligns with the BJP.
The TDP strategy team is reportedly assessing the number of seats that BJP should be given in the elections if TDP decides to join the NDA. The plan is to allocate a limited number of seats, considering factors such as the BJP’s vote percentage in the state.
The TDP leadership is cautious about offering seats in areas where the BJP may not have significant strength, aiming to avoid unintended ties with the YSRCP.
