Naidu also confirmed to the leaders that the Center is planning Advance Polls for Parliament and is keen on simultaneous elections by curtailing and increasing the terms of Some State Assemblies. The center has been already seeking the inputs from the political parties regarding the same.

There are rumours that an amendment may be made to the constitution in the upcoming Parliament session for the same. “We will fight it legally if they try to force it on us by making a constitutional amendment. However, we should be ready if Lok Sabha Elections are held in advance,” Chandrababu Naidu told the leaders.

In such case, Andhra Pradesh will have its elections in Summer of 2019. On the other side, Telangana may go for advance polls along with the Central Government. But elections at different times will mean more expenses to the political parties.
