The other day Union Minister Hansraj Gangaram in the Parliament went on to say that there is no proposal or possibility to increase the number of Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana until 2031 for a question asked by a Telangana MP.

But then, some time later, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu went on to say that the Cabinet Note for increasing the Assembly seats is being prepared. He also went on to say that the cabinet note will also have the necessary information about the constitutional amendments if needed.
Venkaiah made this announcement after meeting Union Home Minister, Rajnadh Singh so this announcement becomes vital. Post the bifurcation, the ruling parties in both the states are urging to increase them to nine which will take the MLA seats in AP to 225 (175 now) and in Telangana to 153 (119 now).
