Congress Party had already announced to field a candidate in Nandhyal by-election. While both TDP and YSR Congress fielded Reddy Candidates, Congress is planning to field a BC Candidate. Congress contesting will come as a disappointment to YSR Congress.

This will only divide the anti-government vote. But then, Congress is worried that fielding no candidate will ensure that is vote bank gets eroded. But then, fielding a strong candidate will be no easy task for Congress which is beaten to death after the state division.
At most Congress can target getting the deposit. The voting for the election will take place on 23rd of August and the counting will happen on 26th. The Results will be out on the same day. Last Date of Nominations is August 5th
