The intense, long-running political and personal battle between the Kesineni brothers has officially reached a peaking point.
Following a formal complaint by current Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni), the Patamata Police in Vijayawada have registered a criminal case against his elder brother and former MP, Kesineni Srinivas (Nani).
According to the complaint, Kesineni Nani allegedly launched a targeted, defamatory campaign online, releasing a public letter accusing MP Chinni of executing fraudulent benami land transactions.
Nani claimed that Chinni was illegally benefiting through Ursa Clusters Private Limited, a firm currently establishing a multi-crore AI hyperscale data center in Andhra Pradesh.
MP Chinni stated that he had previously issued legal notices demanding his brother retract the baseless allegations. When Nani chose not to respond and continued the online posts, Chinni approached law enforcement to protect his reputation.
In a swift counter-move just a day prior, Nani had also petitioned the Enforcement Directorate (ED), calling for a money-laundering investigation into Chinni and his associates over Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) funds.
Responding to the official complaint, the Patamata police booked Kesineni Nani under several stringent provisions of both the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) including sections for defamation and criminal intimidation, and the Information Technology (IT) Act for spreading malicious misinformation electronically.
What began as an internal family disagreement that spilled into the 2024 election cycle has now transformed into a full-scale legal battle, ensuring that the Kesineni brothers remain at the absolute center of Vijayawada’s volatile political discourse.
