The upcoming GHMC elections is filled with candidates with pending criminal cases and no party is exception to that. Ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti and the main opposition, Congress are leading the list by fielding 10 candidates each with criminal history.

TDP has nine, MIM has eight, BJP has five and MBT has three such candidates. Even CPI, CPM, Samajwadi Party and BSP have fielded one candidate each with criminal history out of the total 48 tainted candidates in the fray.
These 48 contestants range from murder to theft, kidnapping, rioting, assaulting a public servant, domestic violence and even gambling. TRS candidates – Ramana Reddy (Champapeta) is accused in a murder case and Vikram Goud (Jambagh) is accused in Kidnapping and extortion case.
