After he summons from the Speaker, Danam Nagender is pretty confident that he won’t be disqualified. Reason? According to Congress insiders, Danam along with Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam will be let off like others.
In 2024, Danam Nagender contested the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat and lost on the Congress ticket. After such a blatant move, the BRS wanted Danam disqualified. But Danam’s lawyers argued that the disqualification petition was filed by the BRS prior to the Lok Sabha elections. They say this does not apply to Danam.
After getting reliable information that he will not be disqualified, Danam says the petitions filed by the BRS in court will be dismissed too. His lobby maintains that BRS did not take action against Danam for anti-party activities and neither did they suspend him.
Danam now says that there won’t be any by poll in Khairtabad. Instead there will be elections directly.
Danam Nagender is an established BC leader. He is an old hand in Telangana politics. Hence, he is able to play his cards as it suits him. But many in Telangana feel Danam’s episode has become like a daily soap with little progress. Time the soap ends.
