Telangana Rashtra Samiti successfully eliminated Congress from the Council. Congress is merged into TRS in the Council and the official gazette is already issued and now TRS is making similar moves in the Assembly as well. Even before the MLAs take the oath, TRS wants to finish off Congress in the Assembly.

The plan is to merge Congress Legislative Party into TRS Legislative Party. For that to happen, Two-Thirds of Congress MLAs are to be merged into TRS Legislative Party which means 13 to 14 MLAs. Buzz is that eight Congress MLAs have already got in touch with TRS High Command ready to switch the sides.
That means Congress is just one MLA away from losing the Principal Opposition Party Position. If at all the party loses five or Six MLAs, the party may be merged into TRS eliminating the party completely from the Assembly. If that happens, there will be no opposition in the Assembly for TRS in the next Five years.
