Popular director and actor R. Narayana Murthy is known for his cinematic portrayals of social issues and revolutions.
Contrary to his intense on-screen image, he is a kind-hearted man off-screen. Even a humble man like him was cheated by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, according to a story in Eenadu.
Getting into details, Narayana Murthy had a dream of getting an irrigation project in his native region. A few years ago, he presented his proposal to Jagan. Even Jagan immediately gave his nod to the project.
With the Chief Minister’s instant approval, everyone thought that the project would become a reality soon. Narayana Murthy was also on cloud nine with the instant approval of the project.
However, the project remains confined to paper even after all these years. Connecting the canals in Eluru of East Godavari district, and Thandava in the united Visakhapatnam district could result in a new irrigation project, benefiting 5600 acres of land across both united districts.
The YCP government allocated Rs. 470 crores for this venture and granted construction approval on March 19, 2021. Tender calls were also given.
However, just like other projects, even this project suffered neglect from the government. Even after three years of approval, not a single foundation stone has been laid for this project.
