Telangana government has got the much-needed relief from the Hyderabad High Court divisional bench. The divisional bench had imposed a stay on the verdict of the high court single bench which slashed the land acquisition G.O. brought up by the state government for Mallannasagar Project.

The divisional bench, however, asked the court to submit amendments to the GO. The court instructed the government that the amendments should address the compensation package to landless labourers who are going to be affected due to the land acquisition. The court also clarified that the further land transactions will have to bind to the final judgement of the court which will be given after the amended G.O. is submitted.
This judgement of the high court comes as a huge relief to the ruling party which was earlier embarrassed by the Single Judge Bench verdict. Mallanna Sagar Project Land Acquisition is the first biggest headache for KCR since he came to power two years ago. Opposition parties are raking up the issue big time as they see this as an opportunity to corner the government and make their presence felt.
