Hyderabad Central University (HCU) is on a rage following the death of research scholar, Rohit Vemula. Students are agitating for the ousting of VC Appa Rao and central ministers – Bandaru Dattatreya and Smriti Irani. Almost a month of the academic year had gone waste as agitating student associations are not allowing the classes to happen.

The University authorities have stopped the Students Wi-Fi so that the connectivity between the troublesome student groups stop and also the hate campaign through online is put to an end.
But the students associations are continuing the communication with an app called Firechat. It is an app that works on peer to peer messaging and hence doesn’t need internet or a cell tower reception. The messages have a range of 70 metres. This app is disrupting the peace of the campus.
