The IPL 2024 season kicked off on March 22, igniting cricket fever across India.
Hyderabad is gearing up for an exciting showdown between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings at the Uppal stadium on April 5. Paytm opened ticket bookings for the match today, but all tickets sold out within an hour, leaving many fans disappointed.
Notably, Paytm had made available a limited number of tickets, with tiers priced at 15,000, 22,000, and 30,000 rupees, while tickets priced at 1500, 4000, 4500, 6000, and 7000 were shown as sold out which looked fishy.
There’s a suspicion surrounding the ticket sales, as tickets in certain price ranges vanished suspiciously quickly. This has led to allegations of ticket scalping, with reports emerging of IPL tickets appearing on the black market.
Fans who eagerly awaited the ticket release found themselves empty-handed despite being online early, raising doubts about the fairness of the process.
It is being reported that tickets are being sold in black for exorbitant prices – 1500 rupee tickets fetching 5 thousand, 4 thousand rupee tickets priced at 9 thousand, and 6 thousand rupee tickets selling for 12 thousand rupees.
In response, frustrated cricket enthusiasts are voicing their concerns on social media and filing complaints.
