Gali Janardhana Reddy who has been imprisoned for 7 years in the Obulapuram mining scam is now at Chanchalguda jail in Hyderabad. He was spotted in regular white jail uniform.
In 2011, Reddy was a remand prisoner in the same jail. At the time, the Court permitted special facilities for him. However, now that he is sentenced, he is not liable for special treatment.
Along with Gali, Srinivasa Reddy, Rajagopal, Alikhan have been put in the same barrack. His wife, daughter and brother met him in mulakhat. His wife and daughter broke down seeing him in jail.
Gali Janardhan Reddy had pleaded for reduction in jail sentence, but the judge did not give in. Gali Janardhan Reddy and three others are convicted for their involvement in OMC case.
The case began in 2009 and Gali Janardhana Reddy served sentence in the past. But the final judgement has been given on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. And he is back in jail.
