Vinayaka Chaviti is on September 5th and is likely to pose major challenges to Hyderabad administration during the immersion. The High Court had already imposed a 15 feet rule on the idols but Seva Samitis in several areas are all set to flaunt idols much bigger with the biggest being at 72-feet.

Besides the high court rule, the ongoing Metro Rail works will also pose a challenge. Some areas where the works are in progress do not allow idols more than 13 feet to pass through them. In some areas, 15 feet is the maximum permissible height. If there are idols bigger than these limits, it will be a challenge for the processions to pass through.
On the other side, to prevent pollution of lakes, the irrigation department is digging immersion pits near nine lakes simultaneously measuring 43 metres by 43 metres and four metres deep.
