NCRB: 95% Fall in Farmer Suicides in KCR’s Term

Harish Rao defends KCR with NCRB data

BRS leader Harish Rao attacked the Telangana Congress after the NCRB released its report on farmer suicides. The report showed that under KCR’s 10-year rule, suicides fell by 95.84%. In 2023, 10,786 farmers died by suicide, and Telangana’s share was only 0.51%.

Rao said this was a clear answer to KCR’s critics. He reminded that Telangana ranked second in farmer suicides in 2014, but now stands at 14th. According to him, official Central government data proves KCR worked to make farmers “the kings.”

He credited schemes like Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, and 24-hour electricity for helping farmers. He said the Kaleswaram project met irrigation needs, and Mission Kakatiya restored ponds, raising groundwater and turning barren land into crop fields.

Harish Rao argued that before KCR, Telangana farmers lived in distress. Under his leadership, the state became a rice bowl and a role model for India. He claimed KCR turned a land of suicides into Annapurna, showing true love for farmers, unlike Congress which only seeks votes.
