Hinduja’s double game with Telugu States!

hindhuja thermal power plantThe Hinduja Power Plant which has started the first phase power production has become a bone of contention between the Telugu States. While Telangana is batting for the share in the power in population ratio, Andhra Pradesh is clarifying that it will only get a share in equity for the amount it invested but not the power since there is no PPA regarding Hinduja Power.

The 1,040 MW power is expected to start generating power fully by February, 2015. While honouring AP’s claims, Hinduja officials have come for talks with Telangana Discoms and clarified that they are a private company and will operate according to the PPAs. They have clarified that they are ready to provide power to Telangana but judging the claims of both the states do not come under their jurisdiction.

It is said that discussions also happened between Hinduja and Telangana state officials regarding short-term power purchase agreements and power purchase price. Hinduja representatives promised to get back on the issue soon.
