YSRCP MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy and his brother Venkatrami Reddy, who allegedly committed acts of violence and severely disrupted the election polling process in Macharla, Palnadu district, on Monday, have gone into hiding to avoid arrest.
On Thursday night, the brothers visited the Chief Minister’s camp office in Tadepalli. They stayed there for about an hour, discussing various matters, before returning home. Around 10 PM, they dismissed their gunmen and went upstairs in their house.
Later that night, around 2 AM, they reportedly jumped over the back wall of their house and fled in private vehicles, fearing arrest after learning that the Palnadu Collector had received a complaint from the Election Commission against the SP.
The Election Commission is taking the case of the Pinnelli brothers, who caused significant disruption in Macharla, very seriously. The brothers’ visit to Tadepalli and subsequent flight suggests they were aware of the severity of their actions and the potential consequences.
The riots orchestrated by the Pinnelli brothers in the Macharla constituency before and after the elections have been significant. The TDP cadre were outraged by the perceived collusion between the police and the Pinnelli brothers.
According to reports, MLA Pinnelli, along with YSRCP leaders and some rowdy elements, targeted polling agents and created chaos. Observers appointed by the Election Commission have submitted a comprehensive report on the Pinnelli brothers’ actions in the Macharla constituency.
Consequently, the Election Commission is expected to take strict action against the MLA and his brother. Realizing the gravity of their situation, the Pinnelli brothers fled to avoid imminent legal repercussions.
