The Hyderabad traffic police released statistics on traffic violations recorded during 2025. The data shows a sharp rise in rule breaking across the city. Despite this trend, the total number of road accidents reported a noticeable decline.

No helmet riding increased by 1.6 times, rising from 25.6 lakh cases in 2024 to 41.3 lakh in 2025. Wrong side parking grew by 1.3 times and crossed six lakh cases. Over speeding saw a threefold increase within a year.

Mobile driving violations rose by 1.4 times and touched 1.26 lakh cases. Signal jumping remained one of the most common offences. Drunk driving cases dropped to 49732 due to strict enforcement measures.

Fines worth Rs 104.6 crores were collected in drunk driving cases alone. Authorities jailed 3185 offenders and cancelled 195 driving licences. These actions were part of intensified traffic monitoring efforts.

Interestingly, road accidents reduced from 3058 cases to 2679 during the year. Pedestrian accidents also declined from 974 to 837. Injury numbers dropped sharply despite growing traffic volumes.

As the year drew to a close, the Cyberabad traffic police released additional figures. The data highlighted continued unruly behaviour by Hyderabad citizens on city roads. Officials stressed the need for stronger public awareness.
