Despite inheriting Surplus budget from the state bifurcation, Telangana state is battling severe funds crunch due to the several costly promises made and are being made. In order to pool up funds to fund various welfare schemes, government is eyeing the illegal constructions in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts. The Revenue officials of these two districts are busy in the last two months surveying lands.
They have found out that several colonies have sprouted in government lands in the last 30 years. The land grabbers have sold those lands in the form of plots with fake documents and several houses and apartments have come up there now. It is not possible to vacate these lands now and so government will identify those lands and throw Regularization notices on to the owners.
It is identified that there are 6000 acres of government land that is encroached in both these districts and there are 37450 illegal constructions in these lands. There are also 1900 commercial constructions too. Government if regularized these constructions, an income of 15000 Crores is quite possible. If government only regularizes few of them which are present in small land parcels, easily 8000 Crores can be achieved.
