Insta Influencers

In the recent Telangana elections, social media played a significant role in the political scene. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) took a digital approach, enlisting over 250 social media influencers and celebrities to spread the word about their campaign.

The party paid these influencers crores of money to share content about the party and sing praises of the BRS government, but neither the influencers nor their videos could influence real voters.

Famous celebrities like Sreemukhi joined in, talking about how the BRS government made great developments in her hometown.

Others, like singer Sravana Bhargavi, Surekha Vani, her daughter Supritha, Hariteja, and many others also praised Telangana’s growth under Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

However, a sudden twist occurred when the Congress party emerged victorious, leading to a significant defeat for BRS. In the aftermath, a quiet shift has taken place among these influencers. Slowly but surely, they’ve begun removing their posts supporting KCR, KTR, and BRS.

Some even began sharing old pictures with Revanth Reddy, who is now a top contender from Congress for the next Chief Minister of Telangana.

The saying goes, “Everyone salutes only the rising sun,” and it appears that, as winners change, so do the sides of these paid social media influencers.
