International Consortium to solve KCR’s big issue?

A Saudi-American-Chinese consortium has come forward to build a coal-fired power plant in Telangana which will cost around USD 3-4.5 billion. The group has the experience of building 17 power plants in Saudi Arabia, Turkey and other countries. It is said that consortium had sent in a letter of proposal to the Telangana government and is waiting for their response.

The proposed power plant will generate between 2,500 and 3,500 megawatts and utilize coal from Khammam district. The cost of the plant is expected to be around USD 3-4.5 billion which according to them is one of the most economical proposal for their experience and model they possess. Telangana is in a dire need of power plants as such there are no thermal power plants in the state despite have abundance of coal. Sources say roping this consortium for a project will make sure the construction is completed as soon as possible and the power problems of Telangana will be solved.
