YSR Congress seems to be scared of facing the elections with Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh leading the party. The party through its actions made it clear that it intends to send Chandrababu and Lokesh to jail so that there is no leader to lead the Opposition in the elections.

It is understandable because of the rampant anti-incumbency and the MLC election result earlier this year.
Chandrababu is in jail and Lokesh got busy with legal meetings.

Now, the YSR Congress seems to be fearing Nandamuri Balakrishna as well.
Balakrishna is just an MLA who is trying to strike a balance between his constituency works and film commitments.

He is never into serious politics but has become active in the party after Chandrababu’s arrest.
It looks like the YSR Congress is worried even about a non-regular politician like Balakrishna too.
It is evident by the way the ruling party attacked Balakrishna in the assembly for two days. YSR Congress Ministers and MLAs took turn to make cheap personal remarks about Balakrishna and shockingly, the Speaker did not try to stop them.
Their banter continued even after TDP MLAs boycotted the session. The basic rule that one should not speak about those not in the house is also not followed.
Sakshi also carried a long defaming article about Balakrishna today.
Forget Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh, if YSR Congress is afraid even about a non-regular politician like Balakrishna, it speaks volumes about their confidence about 2024 elections.
