The Prosecution did not object to Jayalalithaa’s bail and so every one thought it will be accepted. But surprisingly the High court in Bangalore rejected the bail application and Jaya who is in Parapanna Agraharam jail for the last 11 days will have to continue there.
AIADMK supporters have started celebrations as soon as the got the bail news but only to get disappointed later. Chief Minister Pannerselvam has appealed the party supporters to keep calm. Jayalalithaa likely to appeal to Supreme Court tomorrow against today’s verdict which refused her bail. It is known that 27 September, Special Judge John Michael D’Cunha had convicted Jayalalithaa, sentencing her to four years imprisonment in the disproportionate assets case, and slapped a staggering fine of Rs 100 crore in the corruption case. The other co-convicts were sentenced with four years jail and 10 Crores fine.
