Tragedy struck when a Telugu girl, Meghana (23), met with an accident in Columbia, MO, last week while returning to her home.
She was taken to the ER at Missouri Orthopedic Institute in Columbia in an emergency medical helicopter. She suffered major fractures to her right hand and left leg.
Meghana has gone through several hours of surgeries on her leg and hand. She is not able to move her hand due to a nerve issue caused by a broken bone. She needs to undergo many physiotherapy sessions to regain leg and hand movement.
Her friends and family have already started a GoFundMe account to help her cover the costs of treatment which will be used for surgeries, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing care.
Her family says that even after her insurance coverage, her treatment and rehab program estimates cost an exorbitant out-of-budget expense that is possible to meet only through group effort.
Meghana comes from a middle-class family in Moranchapalli, Telangana. She completed her engineering at Hyderabad’s JNTU. She went to the USA to pursue her Master’s in Computer Science & Information Systems from the University of Central Missouri last year. Meghana is now in her last semester.
Her friends say that she has always been full of potential and dreams with an excellent academic track record which proves her dedication and passion for pursuing a better future for her family.
We wish her a speedy recovery!
