Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao is in the process of grooming his son, K Taraka Ramarao as his next heir since the day he assumed office after 2014 elections. KTR is currently handling plum portfolios like information technology (IT), industries & commerce, municipal administration and urban development (MA&UD) and is already being projected as Rockstar Politician in the state.

Reports are emerging that Telangana is planning to its own ‘external affairs’ ministry and the Chief Minister is planning to make his son K Taraka Rama Rao, the first ‘foreign minister’ of the state. This is an attempt to reach out to the rest of world to bring as many as investments possible to the state.
However Political experts say that this is a huge risk for CM KCR. They say the Chief Minister is unnecessary inflating KTR’s image coming up with innovative ideas but that would only increase the hype and expectations when the state goes to elections next time. “KTR is already carrying immense expectations. By the next elections, people will start measuring what really happened. At that time, the expectations may backfire,” they say.
