Telugu Desam Party has finalised the list of Party Presidents across various districts. This time, the party has focused on young leaders who can strengthen the organisation and attract youth ahead of the 2029 elections.

One such interesting selection is Kimidi Nagarjuna as Vizianagaram TDP President. The decision has drawn attention within political circles in the district.

Kimidi Nagarjuna is the son of former TDP MLA Kimidi Mrunalini. He is a tech professional who returned from the USA to actively enter politics and work at the grassroots level.

In the 2019 elections, he contested against Minister Botsa Satyanarayana but suffered defeat. Botsa won the election with a comfortable majority of 26K votes.

Despite the loss, Nagarjuna remained committed to the constituency. He continued working actively until 2024, building party strength at the local level.

Ahead of the 2024 elections, the TDP High Command took a surprising decision. The party chose not to give a ticket to Nagarjuna.

Instead, the ticket was allotted to his paternal uncle, senior leader and former minister Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao. The move left Nagarjuna disappointed.

In March 2024, Nagarjuna resigned from his posts as TDP Vizianagaram Parliamentary district president and Cheepurupalli in-charge. He cited lack of recognition for his efforts as the reason.

However, he soon reconciled with the party leadership. Nagarjuna actively worked for Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao’s victory in Cheepurupalli.

Recognising his dedication, the TDP High Command rewarded him with the post of Vizianagaram TDP President. This is considered a key organisational role for a young leader.

Meanwhile, Jagan Mohan Reddy continues to place strong faith in Botsa Satyanarayana. After his defeat in the recent election, Jagan sent him to the Council and appointed him as Opposition Leader in the Upper House.

In the last elections, Botsa’s family received five tickets. Botsa contested from Cheepurupalli, while his brother Appalanarasaiah contested from Gajapathinagaram.

His co-brother Baddukonda Appalanaidu was given the Nelimarla ticket. His wife Botsa Jhansi contested as Vishakapatnam MP.

Vizianagaram MP candidate Bellana Chandrasekhar was also a relative of Botsa. All of them lost in the election.

Despite the losses, Jagan believes that the success of the Botsa family is crucial for YSR Congress in Vizianagaram. As a result, Botsa continues to receive high importance.

To counter Botsa and strengthen the fight against YSR Congress in the district, the TDP High Command is empowering Kimidi Nagarjuna with this crucial responsibility.
