Nandamuri Balakrishna is one star who actively campaigned for the Telugu Desam Party. He never created issues within the party. Whenever the party needed him, he stepped in without hesitation and worked on the ground.
Despite being the son of the party founder, Balakrishna never showed ambition for posts in the party or the government when it was in power. He focused on campaigning and supporting the leadership without seeking personal political gain.
Now, Balakrishna fans are unhappy with the party’s attitude. They feel TDP leaders remained silent about Akhanda 2. Nara Lokesh tweeted a success wish just a day before release, but that was the only visible support.
Apart from that tweet, fans say there was no real push for the film from the party side. No senior leader spoke about Akhanda 2 in the media or on social media. This silence has not gone down well with supporters.
Many ask why political leaders should speak about a movie at all. On its own, the silence may not matter. However, the situation looks different when compared with how TDP leaders promoted OG during its release in September.
During OG release, several TDP leaders openly supported Pawan Kalyan. They spoke about the film in media interactions and on social platforms. Some leaders even arranged special screenings in their constituencies.
That same enthusiasm is missing for Akhanda 2. Balakrishna fans feel this difference is due to power equations. They point out that Balakrishna is an MLA, while Pawan Kalyan is the Deputy Chief Minister.
Fans are now demanding a cabinet berth for Balakrishna in the next expansion. This demand gained strength after Chandrababu Naidu announced Naga Babu’s induction into the Cabinet. Supporters are questioning why Balakrishna is being overlooked.
If Balakrishna is inducted, allegations of family and caste politics may resurface against Naidu. Still, the demand has become stronger than ever before. It remains to be seen where this growing pressure will eventually lead.
