AP BJP has inducted some leaders from TDP but barely trusts them. One such leader is Sujana Chowdary who was once a close-aide of Chandrababu Naidu. He was the Rajya Sabha MP of TDP but defected to BJP after 2019.
Sujana has sought the party leadership from BJP high command and in exchange offered to engineer mass defections from his previous party. But the party high command is still doubtful of his past connections.
This is the case with all previous TDP leaders in BJP. They are disappointed about the lack of trust and they are also not sure about their future in BJP with the party showing zero improvements in the last three years.
“If things do not change in the next one year and if Janasena severe ties with the party, we may see a mass exodus of the same leaders to the parent party just before the elections,” a source told us.
Meanwhile, there are reports that BJP high command is considering changing Somu Veerraju as the Party President. They are looking at an aggressive face to lead the party in 2024.
