Media which is still licking the wounds of ban of few channels in Telangana state have encountered one more issue with the state government. This time it is the issue of covering the International Metropolis Congress in Hyderabad. Government barred access to media for the second day since they fear the banned channels may protest inside the venue to defame government before the international delegates.
The media woes does not end there. Stranded at one km away from the event venue, media is setup few TV sets which relay the live feed of the event and media is expected to cover the event from them. The audio feed is so erratic that media personnel are having a hell of time covering the event. Government has also restricted media from interviewing any delegates. The officials of Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department is arranging selected media to interview few delegates and are also dictating the question that are to be asked. With all this scrutiny and restrictions, Telangana media is reportedly very unhappy with the government.
