Gudivada Amarnath According to a report in Andhraprabha, YSRCP Leaders are in tense in Visakhapatnam after family members of the ruling party’s MP were allegedly arrested and kidnapped for 48 hours. As a result, there has been a surge in applications for gun licenses, with politicians and businessmen seeking to obtain weapons for self-defense.

MP MVV Satyanarayana and his son Sarath Chowdary have reportedly submitted applications for gun licenses to the city police commissioner.

It is stated that the MP believes there is a possibility of future attacks on him, and the police have suggested that both the MP and his son apply for gun licenses as a precautionary measure.

Minister Gudivada Amarnath is also mentioned as having applied for a gun license. To obtain a gun license, individuals are required to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Police Department, as well as from the Special Branch and Intelligence Security Wing.

Currently, there are around 600 people with gun licenses in Visakhapatnam city limits, with over 400 of them being ex-servicemen who work as security guards in banks and other institutions. Additionally, around 150 to 200 politicians and businessmen in the city possess gun licenses.
