Earlier there were reports that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao is looking for Nandhyal like kick which will give the necessary fillip for TRS ahead of the 2019 elections. TDP contested Nandhyal against all odds and won the constituency which is considered as weak for TDP.

Rumours were rife that the Chief Minister may appoint Nalgonda MP, Gutta Sukender Reddy for a cabinet rank post that necessitates his resignation from parliament which inturn brings a by-election for Nalgonda Loksabha segment. But at the same time, Revanth Reddy Episode cropped up.
If Revanth joins Congress, he may resign for Kodangal Assembly segment and KCR will be tempted to contest there and defeat his arch-rival. In such case, there is no necessity to face Nalgonda by-election. Earlier there were reports that Revanth Reddy may contest Nalgonda by-election either from TDP(TS) or as a joint candidate of the Opposition.
Resigning for Kodangal will help Revanth to emerge as strong opposition contender. He will have a moral high ground as the ruling TRS did not dare to seek the resignation of defected legislators. In either case, KCR’s urge for the Nandhyal like kick will be fulfilled in the next few months.
