Andhra Pradesh cabinet minister Nara Lokesh embarked on the Yuva Galam Pada Yatra before the state assembly elections, covering 3,132 km. Throughout the Yatra, Lokesh made several promises to the public.
In the elections, the TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP alliance secured a landslide victory and formed the government. Since then, Lokesh has been actively working to fulfil his promises.

He has already fulfilled a few promises made during the Yuva Galam Pada Yatra, including the establishment of a dialysis center in Bangarupalyam in the Puthalapattu constituency and increasing aid for “Dhoopa Deepa Naivedyalu” in small temples across the state.
Now, Lokesh has announced that the AP government is set to fulfil another promise made during his Yatra. He stated that, at the request of the Boya and Valmiki communities, Valmiki Jayanthi would be celebrated officially across the state.

Sharing this, Lokesh tweeted, “Another promise I gave in the Yuvagalam Padayatra was fulfilled by the people’s government led by Chandrababu garu. During my padayatra, brothers from the Boya and Valmiki communities requested me to celebrate Valmiki Jayanthi as a state festival.”
“Respecting their sentiments, orders have been issued to officially celebrate Valmiki Jayanthi on the 17th of this month in all district headquarters. On the same day, we will also celebrate the state-level Valmiki Jayanthi event in Anantapur,” Lokesh added.

Asserting TDP’s commitment to the BC community, he wrote, “Telugu Desam Party is the birthplace of the BCs. Our government will always take steps towards increasing their self-esteem.”
