Lokesh @ Mangalagiri: Right Place Right Time

Nara-Lokesh-Mangalagiri

Despite the upset in 2019, Nara Lokesh has decided to stay at Mangalagiri and contest from this constituency in the coming election. As per the latest reports, Lokesh reached Mangalagiri on Tuesday and he will be staying here for the next two weeks.

This is more of an image-building exercise for Lokesh as he is scheduled to meet the local TDP cadre and also appeal to the voters. In the next two weeks, Lokesh apparently plans to demonstrate his plan of action to develop the constituency once he becomes the MLA.

Had Lokesh come right before the election and promised any good works to the locals, it would have been an election stint. But Lokesh has orchestrated this Mangalagiri tour months before the election and has already started to set the stage for his candidature here. This very much confirms that he is serious about the constituency and strikes the right chord with the voters.

Also, YCP is in shatters in Mangalagiri with the sitting MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy leaving the party and resigning from the MLA post. While YCP is still assessing this situation in RK’s absence, Lokesh coming there and asserting dominance can be regarded as the right move at the right time. It is not just a counterattack on YCP but also a genuine attempt to show his commitment to the constituency.

Once the Mangalagiri two-week tour is done, Lokesh will go on state-wide tour where he will cover the 78 MLA constituencies that he couldn’t cover during the Yuvagalam yatra.
