The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) Commissioner, AV Ranganath clarified that HYDRAA has nothing to do with the surveys that are being done on the Musi River Bed.
He stated that HYDRAA is not dealing with the houses on the Musi river bed. He said that it is being handled by the Musi River Development Board.

He asserted that both are different entities and have no connection with each other. He asked people not to relate the Musi board’s activities with HYDRAA.
HYDRAA has been facing severe backlash over the past few days for allegedly demolishing poor people’s residences near lakes in and around Hyderabad.

At the same time, government officials were marking houses that are on the Musi River Bed over the last few days. This initiative was a part of the Musi River Development Project.
Even this initiative caused a huge backlash with people residing on Musi River Bed staging protests and not allowing government officials to mark their houses.

As the operations of both HYDRAA and the Musi River Development Board took place simultaneously, people mistakenly assumed that both were being carried out by HYDRAA. This misunderstanding led to increased confusion, resulting in even more backlash against HYDRAA in recent days.
