The investigation into former minister and Punganur MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy’s family is revealing significant irregularities and allegations of corruption. Victims who were allegedly cheated by Peddireddy’s family are now coming forward in large numbers, especially to the Madanapally sub-collector’s office, to file complaints.

These victims hail from the constituencies of Madanapally, Punganur, Tamballapally, and Peeleru, and they have been suppressed by fear of attacks and atrocities for a long time. Special Chief Secretary Sisodia, who is investigating the file burning incident in the Madanapally sub-collector’s office, was taken aback when over 300 people arrived with complaints against Peddireddy’s family, far exceeding his expectation of 10 or more complainants.
This reflects the extent of the alleged land irregularities and the public’s pent-up grievances. One notable case involves 100 acres of government land near Renigunta Airport, within which lies an assigned farm of 20.5 acres. This land is now registered in the name of Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy’s wife, Swarnalatha, and has a market value exceeding Rs. 100 crores.

During the YSRCP government’s tenure, revenue officials apparently settled the land without raising any alarms. Questions are now being raised about how the assigned land came to be registered under Peddireddy’s family name and why it was not scrutinized earlier.
The current administration is making efforts to uncover these irregularities, and the ongoing investigations are being closely monitored by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The mounting evidence and the large number of complaints suggest that significant legal consequences might be imminent for Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy. Sources indicate that his arrest could be forthcoming, marking a major development in the crackdown on corruption within the YSRCP leadership.
