Under the guise of a spiritual meeting, workers affiliated with the Pilli Subhash group of the YSRCP organized a gathering in Ramachandrapuram to protest against the minister, Venugopalakrishna.
The internal conflict among YSRCP leaders in the Godavari districts has escalated to an extreme level. Recently, Joint Godavari District Coordinator Midhun Reddy held a meeting with party MLAs, during which the differences between MP Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose and Minister Venugopalakrishna came to light.
Midhun Reddy’s statement, stating that Minister would contest in Ramachandrapuram and that no one else’s son would stand a chance, has caused a stir within Bose’s circle. Leaders are exerting pressure on the administration to award the ticket to Bose’s son, Suryaprakash.
It is rumored that Venu, a non-local candidate, won the last election with Bose’s support. The Pilli group has warned the YSRCP High Command that they are ready to defeat the minister if the YSRCP Ramachandrapuram ticket is not confirmed for Pilli’s son, Suryaprakash, in the upcoming elections.
Some cadre members have reportedly suggested that Pilli join the TDP and contest from Ramachandrapuram. On the other hand, Minister Venugopalakrishna has declared his intention to contest again from Ramachandrapuram in the upcoming elections. Now, the decision lies with Jagan, and it will be interesting to see how he reconciles the two groups.
