It is not an ordinary task to carry a regional political party on one’s shoulders for decades. But TDP president Chandrababu Naidu will be in history not just for steering a political party successfully but for being in the opposition and ruling for the longest time.
If Exit Polls come true on June 4th, as they most likely will, Chandrababu Naidu will become the first Telugu Chief Minister to have been sworn in for a fourth term. This is a rare record and will be unbeaten for a long time.
1995 – when he took over power from NTR
1999 – when he was elected for a second term
2014 – When he was elected as the Chief Minister of separated Andhra Pradesh
2024 – Most likely for the fourth term after winning the general elections.
There is no other Telugu CM that is closer to this record, and no one can even go near this in the near future.
Chandrababu Naidu earned massive respect for his vision and pro-development thinking, and he will be assuming power for the fourth time with a Herculean task of repairing a completely broken state like Andhra Pradesh.
